Caren Avery, M.S., is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and adjunct professor at SUNY Onondaga. She has operated her private practice Avery Counseling, since 1991 and has provided addiction treatment for the Salvation Army and Rescue Mission. Caren has been a keynote speaker for the State University of New York Judicial Association, has presented various mental health seminars and teaches courses in Counseling and Psychology. A graduate of the Wheaton College Conservatory of Music, she has also served as church worship leader for several years. Caren attends weekly services at Missio Church in Syracuse, NY. She lives in Syracuse, NY with her husband Jim and their three grown children.
Since 1991, Caren's passion for Biblical studies have afforded her the privilege of creating and teaching Bible studies in a variety of settings. As a seminar speaker and counselor, she has an organic ability to incorporate the truth of God’s Word into her talks and counseling sessions. In 2012, she received a scholarship to attend the International Christian Leadership Seminar at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. In the summer of 2016, she was invited to attend the International Christian Leadership Graduate Seminar in Washington DC, hosted by the Christian Friends of Yad Vashem and the Museum of the Bible. Caren's personal and professional experiences, combined with her love of the Word, enable her to impart much needed insight and encouragement to today's Christian woman.
Becky Saxe lives in New Paltz, NY with her husband Patrick and their two children. After her years working as a musician in the United States Marine Corps, she returned to New York and helped to establish a contemporary worship team in 1994 at Leptondale Bible Church, and there she served as Director of Music Ministries and Worship Leader from 2003 to 2013. Becky is a Certified Marriage Mentor, holds a Master of Science Degree in Education, an Ed.S. Degree, and is in the dissertation phase towards a Doctorate of Education at Liberty University. She currently attends weekly services at Grace Community Church in Washingtonville, NY.
Becky has been organizing Christian women's retreats in New York since 1995. Over the years, she has taught women's Bible studies and Sunday school classes and has spoken at various Christian women's events. She is the author of He Is: Who God is to His People, an 8 week Bible study for women. Becky was the worship leader and co-teacher for two women's international tours: one to Holland and Israel in 2010, and the other to Israel in 2013. In 2012, she received a scholarship to attend the International Christian Leadership Seminar at Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. In the summer of 2016, she was invited to lead worship at the International Christian Leadership Graduate Seminar in Washington DC, hosted by Christian Friends of Yad Vashem and the Museum of the Bible. Becky's passion for God's Word, paired with a willingness to share from her heart, provides women with a fresh biblical perspective and opportunities for life application.
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
